The Origin of Christmas

According to the Bible, the three wise men from the East gave gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh at the birth of Jesus, and worshipped him as a sign of honor towards this human savior. This is the origin of the custom of Santa Claus giving gifts to children. British children place long socks by the fireplace on Christmas Eve, believing that Santa Claus will ride a deer down the chimney at night and bring them gifts full of socks. French children leave their shoes at the door and ask the Holy Infant to put gifts inside their shoes when they arrive. December 25th in the Gregorian calendar is the day when Christians commemorate the birth of Jesus, known as Christmas. The Christmas season starts on December 24th and ends on January 6th of the following year. During the Christmas holiday, Christians from various countries hold grand commemorative ceremonies. Christmas was originally a Christian holiday, but due to people's special attention, it has become a national holiday. It is the grandest holiday in the country and can be compared to the New Year, similar to the Chinese New Year.

Commemorating the Birth of Jesus
It is said that Jesus became pregnant through the Holy Spirit and was born to the virgin Mary. God sent the messenger Gabriel to prophesy to Joseph in a dream not to reject Mary because she was unmarried and pregnant, but to marry her and name the child Jesus, with the intention of saving the people from sin.
When Mary was about to give birth, the Roman government gave an order that all people must declare their registered residence in Bethlehem. Joseph and Mary had no choice but to comply. When they arrived in Bethlehem, it was already dusk, and unfortunately, the two were unable to find a hotel to stay overnight, with only one stable available for temporary stays. At this moment, Jesus was about to be born. So Mary gave birth to Jesus only in the manger. In commemoration of the birth of Jesus, later generations designated December 25th as Christmas and celebrated Mass every year to commemorate the birth of Jesus.
